This is a 6-day course delivered either on-site or at a training centre in Dublin (split over 2 weeks)..Dates are set at the request of member copmanies.

The purpose of this module is to equip the learner with relevant knowledge and skills to programme and troubleshoot industrial robotic systems and to carry out maintenance activities. At the end of this module learners will be able to:

  • Describe key components in a typical robotic work cell
  • Differentiate various robotic configurations and their work envelope
  • Explain the mathematical model of multilink system and how individual joints effect the position and velocity of the end effector
  • Demonstrate successful tool change
  • Explain various sensors and actuators used in a robotic cell and integrate new sensors and actuators
  • Integrate vision system to use computer vision technique for environmental perception
  • Demonstrate programming robotic tasks, by applying a range .of relevant programming techniques,
  • Find, and troubleshoot a broad range of faults by inferring the visual indications and error messages .
  • Complete a range of maintenance activities in a safe manner utilizing the relevant technical documentation

This is an elective module (15 ECTS) on the full Level 6 in Industrial Automation Technology (QQi  - 120 credits)
