This highly practical Diploma offers participants the opportunity to gain a project management qualification from Ireland’s first Technological University. The Diploma is aligned to internationally recognised best practices in the discipline of project, programme and portfolio management. Participants will develop the essential knowledge, skills and competencies required for successful project outcomes.

The Diploma is structured around real-world project management challenges and internationally recognised best practices, including the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®), PRINCE2® and Agile Project Management.

The skills and techniques taught on this program are relevant to all sectors of business and government including professional services, construction, engineering, technology and life sciences. Students also learn how to utilise Microsoft Project in the planning, execution and monitoring and controlling of projects.

Programme Delivery

The Diploma is delivered over 10 evenings (6:30pm to 9:30pm) and two Saturdays (09:00am to 4:00pm) Depending on demand the Diploma can be delivered in Dublin, Cork, Kilkenny, Galway or onsite at your workplace.

Module Assessment Frameworks & Methodologies

Individual Assignment 1: Case Study Development.

Individual Assignment 2: Develop Reflective Project Management Handbook.

Project Management Information Systems

Individual Assignment: Practical PMIS simulation requiring students to develop a resource driven Critical Path, with relevant reports and dashboards tracking planned versus actual progress.

Programme & Portfolio Management

Group Assignment: Case Study analysis.

Individual Assignment: Presentation on Reflective Key Learnings 

 

Training Facilitator: John McGrath

John is a trusted project management advisor to some of the largest organisations in the world. His track record over the last 20 years includes over 250 global companies, government agencies, state enterprises, Engineers Ireland, the United Nations, the London and Rio

Paralympics and the World Bank. John’s passion is in building project management competency

within organisations.

John is the Course Director for the MSc in Project Management at TUDublin. Previously John lectured in Project Management at NUIM, TCD, UCD, Smufit Business School and Brunel University. John has also served as the Events Director for the Irish Chapter of PMI, Irish Ambassador and Global Life Science Lead for the Agile Business Consortium.

John is the founder and Editor of the PMORoadshow, Ireland’s only Project Management Magazine. He has published papers in academic and industry journals and has presented at over 100 international project management conferences.
